Researching While You Write
STC-Montreal Event | Posted February 1st, 2006
You can’t write about technology you don’t understand.
Manny Gordon will explain what you must learn, why you must learn it, how to capture elusive information — and why you must start writing even while you research. He will discuss how to approach the dreaded functional spec, how best to prepare for an interview with a subject matter expert, and why book learning is better than free information from the Net. Your goal: to become your own SME!
Manny explains very technical stuff as a technical writer, a business analyst, a teacher, and a trainer. He is an Associate Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication, and a partner in the Montreal consulting firm of Gordon & Gordon. (www.gordonandgordon.com)
