Looking Good in Print and Digital Media

Writers go to great lengths to make sure their work is informative and reads well. But if the work’s aesthetic (visual) presentation is substandard, the writer’s efforts can go to waste. David Deskin will present an introduction to the principles of aesthetic design, both for print and digital media, so as to help writers:

  • Work more effectively with graphic designers
  • Produce better layouts of their own

The presentation will focus on essential tricks of the design trade, including layout principles, colour theory, typography, design idea generation and design critique strategies.

David Deskin is the President of Adage Media, a Montreal-based print and interactive media design firm, which produces training, marketing and identity materials for major corporate clients. David also teaches print and interactive media design at John Abbott College.

This presentation will be held in English.
