STC-Montreal

All-Members Town Hall Meeting

Tonight is the night for the STC-Montreal All-Member Meeting to discuss the status of the chapter. All members of STC-Montreal are invited to participate in this town-hall gathering. Tomorrow night, April 24, we will hold a follow-up Volunteers Meeting.

We will be joined by STC Region 8 Director Beau Cain, who has been sent by STC to help us restore the Montreal chapter to full chapter status from the current provisional status.
All-Member Meeting

The purpose of the Monday All-Member Meeting is to communicate the current state of the chapter, answer any questions about STC procedures, and describe the process by which the Montreal chapter can move itself from provisional chapter status back to full chapter status. We will also be asking members to volunteer and take an active role in the nomination, election, and bylaws-drafting processes.
Volunteers Meeting

At the Tuesday Volunteers Meeting, Beau Cain will explain to the attendees how to conduct a legitimate election under STC rules. He will bring a chapter by-laws template that we can adapt to our unique needs and characteristics, and explain how to draft and ratify our own chapter by-laws. This will put us back on the road to full chapter status.

STC-Montreal needs your participation to advance the chapter from provisional status to full chapter status. Your comprehension and input are important. Please attend both meetings if you can.

Only STC members who have paid their dues in full may vote and run for office. Non-members may attend as observers.

Call for Candidates & Volunteers

Any STC-Montreal chapter member interested in serving in one of the elected Officer positions — President, Vice-President, Treasurer, or Secretary — can submit their candidacy by sending an email to election [at] stc-montreal [dot] org.

The nomination process will close shortly after the All-Member meeting on April 24th, to be followed by the election.

Any STC-Montreal chapter members wishing to take on a vacant volunteer leadership role, including Education, Newsletter, Competitions, Marketing & Public Relations, or others, or who are interested in participating on the Election Planning Committee or By-Laws Drafting Committee, are asked to send an email to volunteers [at] stc-montreal [dot] org.

If any members are available to donate their time and talents to translate this and other communications into French, please send an email to volunteers [at] stc-montreal [dot] org.
