Instant Web Site: Just Add Blogger
Jim Royal

Jim Royal is an information architect at Twist Image.

Quest for Freedom: One Writer’s Experience
Peter MacMillan

Peter will speak about his experience as an ad agency employee working on pharma accounts and his transition to freelancer, as will review the pros and cons of employee vs. freelance status.

Peter MacMillan is a freelance medical copywriter.

The Power of the SOP - Writing Policies and Procedures for Regulated Industries
Everett Larsen

Regulated industries, such as pharmaceuticals, have competing usability and compliance requirements for their documents, and the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is the primary document that provides both instructional content and regulatory compliance context. Writers who develop procedures and policies for regulated industries should be aware of the balance and dynamic tension between two very different sets of audience requirements. Successful SOP writing comes from balancing the needs of the two groups of document users - the regulatory community and the manufacturing process operators.

Everett Larsen is a writer at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in NY State.
