Job Summary
Mecanica Solutions needs a technical writer to develop product
documentation. In this position, you will be working at our customer
location in St-Bruno with the Product Development, Sales and Marketing
Departments and you will take responsibility for writing and editing
technical documentation for some heavy-duty material handling systems.
You will also be responsible for editing documentation written by other
writers. This is a temporary (3-6 Months) position paid hourly without the
Mecanica benefits package. Vacation, statutory holidays and overtime will
be paid in accordance with government employment standards legislation.
When creating, updating and enhancing the documentation, the virtuoso
technical writer will adhere to format, content and style guidelines,
giving consideration to usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency and
quality.
Qualifications
• Strong communication and leadership skills;
• Excellent written and organizational skills;
• Strong team player and be able to effectively collaborate with all
members of the project team;
• A pertinent Bachelor’s Degree or related field and a minimum 3 years
technical writing experience is required;
• Editing experience is an asset;
• Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies;
• Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, R&D or Industrial
background would be considered a strong asset.
With excellent organization, communication and writing styles the ideal
candidate will have an eye for detail. This position requires highly
motivated individuals that are able to grasp complex industrial systems
and learn quickly. It also requires the ability to work within tight
deadlines.
Sample work might be requested at interview. A sample of prior work should
be presented at interview.
