Take our Services division. It reflects our strategic emphasis on
developing and growing our consumer Internet services as well as
developing new enterprise solutions and software.

Nokia’s services encompass five areas: Music, Media, Connect, Location and Ovi Experience. The Services division also encompasses several sub-units: Services Platforms, Shared Services, Service Strategy & New Business.

The Services Platforms unit is the architectural transformation and
operational efficiency machine of Services. It develops and runs shared
services and platforms. The unit also provides overall architectural
guidance and governance for all software development in Services.

The Technical Writer will be the sole documentation member for this team. This position will therefore need to be very hands-on by not just setting the standards but also creating/editing technical documentation.

Responsibilities:
•Create and/or edit technical documentation for technology deployment
projects and technical processes.
•Create documentation guidelines, templates and process for this high
performing ITIL certified Services organization.
•Develop and maintain a shared repository for all technical documentation. i.e. Wiki, database, etc.
•Work collaboratively with technical team members to secure the required information to create or edit documentation. This will require
assertiveness and persistence as this is a very fast paced team.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience in English or
Technical Communication, or equivalent combination of education and 7+ years of Technical and process documentation experience
•Documentation experience in a software or technical services
organization is required
•Ability to adhere to a formal style guide and standardized templates
•Advanced experience using FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat & Distiller, Excel, and a graphics editing program, such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro
•Self-motivated and able to work independently
•Skilled at organizing information into clear, concise written form
•Strong working knowledge of editing, proofreading, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
•Proven ability to handle multiple projects within tight deadlines
•Ability to rapidly absorb technical information and to express complex
technical concepts effectively
•Must be assertive in order to secure required information within deadlines.
•Self-motivated, flexible team member who is well-suited for a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines
