The Technical Writer will work closely with members of Development, QA and Professional Services to create technical documentation for all levels of internal use, document applications, and develop internal and commercial documents. The successful candidate should be comfortable working alone or in groups.
Responsibilities:
•Create and/or edit technical documentation for development and QA.
•Create guidelines, templates, reference materials, application notes and other documents for internal use.
•Work closely with architects, developers and other technical teams to create or edit documentation. Requires assertiveness and persistence to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
•Constantly search for opportunities to improve existing documents and processes.
•Develop and maintain a shared repository for all documentation on SharePoint
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience in English or Technical Communication, or equivalent combination of education and 3+ years of Technical and process documentation experience.
•Documentation experience in software development or a technical services organization is required.
•Advanced knowledge of Adobe Technical Communication suite. Knowledge of graphics editing program of Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro an asset.
•Experience in documenting SDKs and APIs.
•Confident with ability to secure required information within deadlines.
•Passionate about communicating clearly and concisely. Capable editor for proofreading, and checking spelling, grammar and punctuation.
•Skilled at documenting technical processes. Must absorb technical information and express technical concepts effectively.
•Must provide writing samples during the interview.
