Technical Writer

8D Technologies is looking for a junior to intermediate technical writer to fill a permanent position.

The writer will be responsible for writing end editing a variety of technical documentation including user guides, design documents, procedure guides and online help. We are looking for candidates with good work ethics who are meticulous in the quality of their work. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate initiative to collect the information needed for the documentation they will create. We are looking for candidates proficient in both English (the majority of the documents are in English) and French.

The offered position is full-time (37.5 hours per week). Compensation will be based on the training, skills and experience of the candidate and includes a group insurance plan.

Key job responsibilities
•Collect the information needed to create technical documentation
•Plan, design, write, edit and maintain the documentation
•Manage documentation reviews
•Revise, update and maintain existing technical documentation
•Perform related work as required

Qualifications
•Excellent command of French and English (both spoken and written)
•Ability to assimilate complex technical and business concepts and write about them clearly for the intended audience
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Proven experience in creating technical documentation
•Past experience in programming an asset
•Comfortable working in a Mac environment
