The Technical Writer for end user documentation will work closely with members of Education and Professional Services to create technical documentation, including manuals and online help, for all levels of users. The successful candidate should be comfortable working alone or in groups.
Requirements
- Plan, design, write, edit and maintain the documentation, including manuals, online help, user guides, tutorials and other training materials
- Create guidelines, templates, reference materials, application notes and other documents for internal use
- Produce computer-based training modules and videos, as well as maintain library
- Manage documentation reviews
- Revise, update and maintain existing technical documentation
- Constantly search for opportunities to improve existing documents and processes
- Develop and maintain a shared repository for all documentation on Sharepoint
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience in English or Technical Communication, or equivalent combination of education and 3+ years of technical and process documentation experience
- Documentation experience in software development or a technical services organization
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Technical Communication suite. Knowledge of graphics editing program and of Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro an asset
- Confident with ability to secure required information within deadlines
- Passionate about communicating clearly and concisely. The candidate must be a capable editor for proofreading and verifying spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Skilled at documenting technical processes. Must absorb technical information and express technical concepts effectively
- Must provide writing samples during the interview
