Volunteer with STC-Montreal

Many hands make light work. We need yours.

The Montreal Chapter of the STC hosts a dozen events per year, including day-long workshops. There are many small jobs to get done to ensure that the events run smoothly. It’s a great way to network, and contribute to your community.

Some tasks are ongoing; others are required for one-off activities, such as competitions, that don’t require commitment over a long period. These positions must be filled by STC members.

Positions Open

  • Education Coordinator
  • News Editor

See details below.

All are opportunities to raise the profile of technical communications and the local technical writing community. Please contact us and help out.

Education Coordinator

The Education Coordinator handles the organization and planning of our full-day workshops. Our workshops are the prestige events for the chapter, and are often provide invaluable training for the participants.

The Education Coordinator is the point of contact for both speakers and attendees, arranges for the venue, and collects registrations. The chapter typically holds two such events a year, and the efforts of the Education Coordinator are required during the weeks before each event.

If you would like to volunteer for the role of Education Coordinator, please contact us.

Web Site News Editor

The chapter is seeking a news editor to oversee the publication of news and feature articles on its web site. Our goal is to make this web site a hub of information and activities related to technical communication. We need you to help drive it.
